I felt pretty crappy all day. Lots of troubles in life and I’m about to go stir some more… ugh. So I wrote this song in a state of melancholy. Also happenes that a friend of mine needs a melancholy mooded song for his quick film. Here is Two Different Kids on Two Different Mountains.… posted on Brains in Boxes? myspace.

NEW PODCAST. It’s a quickie but I don’t usually make long ones. The short time away from the backwards nature of the city of los angeles allowed me to open up and write a new song. I saved it in my head and recorded it the night I returned. It’s quick…
The salvia trip is very short. Salvia once came to me in a dream. It held me down in a pool of calm and serene blackness. It said to me “you and I must meet again”. I have not yet made that appointment. “I can’t believe this is legal” was the first thing I said several minutes after coming back from another astral plane on my first trip.

LISTEN TO THIS WITH HEADPHONES! It’s something I wrapped together in 3 hours. I laughed my ass off when I realized I was using this metal distortion sound during the take. I didn’t mean to do that at all so I ended it with that cliche ending. I had to. HAHAHAHA. I love this silly thing. It reminds me of my first salvia trip.
Ok, if you’ve ever done the shrooms then yesterday you may have had a good laugh when it was “discovered” that some mushrooms induce a “spiritual experience” from a study done by the Johns Hopkins Medical Institution. So I decided to compose a song that’s as stupid as waiting decades to at least using mushrooms in a study at all. We’ve lost so much time and knowledge to the war on consciousness and it’s time that we accept that not only is the government suppressing studies for expanding consciousness but that we as a democracy side step the bureaucracy of government and carry out these studies on our own. We don’t need a few hundred corrupt men sitting in a large chamber who have nearly no understanding of science to allow or ban scientists to study what they wish just because it’s a hot campaign issue.

Liz hated the song I had chosen to put up here next because it reminded her of Austin, Texas and she hates it here. That song was called… Austin, Texas. I hate it here too but since I wrote it, it reminds me of the good things here that I will be leaving behind.

Richard came to visit me on his spring break. He grabbed a guitar and told me to record what he was playing. Matt Coy added a bass part and I recorded drums later. This is why the timing is a bit off. DRUMS FIRST!

This is a slightly new one. Some of my friends have already heard this one but now it's mastered. I recorded some thunder while I was in my garage chillin chillin. Later, I used three second time-lag accumulator loops with a few guitar pedal effects thrown in to emulate sounds of birds and animals. Its painful to sit and listen to so just put it on repeat as you do some reading.

I made this one with 3 second loops of random notes and effects with my bass guitar. The drum pattern loops every third time against the loop which has a 6/8 feel. I happened to be checking my voicemail as I was sitting down to record the drums so I added that message in too. Just and idea here. I’m sure I’ll use it somewhere some how in something.
